Purpose

• Leadership of the GATA; Officers elected by the GATA membership;
• Provides oversight of all GATA committees
• President represents GATA on SEATA Executive Board

• Serve as resource for members of their respective GATA regions. 
• Voice concerns of their constituents to the Executive Board and recruit members for the various GATA committees from their members. 
  
• Serve as resource for all GATA Committees
  

• Organize all continuing education efforts sponsored by the GATA, including the Annual Meeting & Symposium, Mini-courses, etc.

• Identify and address issues relevant to ethnically diverse members. Advocate sensitivity and understanding toward ethnic and cultural diversity throughout the profession and the association.

• Conduct fundraising activities for the Association, including Corporate Partners, Merchandise Sales, etc. 

Paul Higgs*

• Monitor legislation that impacts the practice of athletic training in Georgia;
• Liaison to GATA  lobbyist 

•  Gather nominations for the various honors and awards given by the GATA & NATA; 
• Oversee the GATA Hall of Fame selection process.  

• Identify, explore, address and provide educational resources regarding emerging topics and concerns relevant to diverse sexualities, gender identities and gender expressions within the profession and health care topics affecting patients in the LGBTQ+ community.

• Publicize events related to the practice of athletic training in Georgia to the general public and our members through our social media channels.

• Identify and address issues of concern to the athletic trainers in the secondary school setting.

• Represent GATA on SEATA Secondary School AT Committee
